It is important that you take time to familiarize yourself with the machine. The more familiar you become with the machine and the tobacco you use, the better your results will be.

When making and smoking custom made cigarettes, keep in mind that there are not fillers and additives that keep the tobacco glued together inside the tube like a manufactured cigarette. You will need to take time to learn which setting is best for your smoking enjoyment.

DO NOT pick up the machine by the injector needle!
Unplug the machine from the outlet before performing any maintenance or cleaning the machine.  You can be harmed by the machine if you do not unplug it.
As with all machines, cleaning will help reduce problems.
Clean the auger and the nozzle with a damp cloth. Make sure to let all areas dry before  plugging the machine back into the outlet or operating the machine.
The corkscrew auger is removable for cleaning purposes. Before removing the auger, make sure to remove all tobacco from the inside the container area and the injector tube. If you do not remove all tobacco from the area, it can clog the machine when you replace the auger. When you place the auger back into the filling tube and turn slowly, it will go back into the machine.                                                                                                                                                 If you are having issues with loosing the glow, fly-ash or the fire falling off:
Tobacco is too dry. To keep your tobacco at proper moisture content, devices like Humidipak packet work the best.
Tobacco is too moist. If the tobacco is too moist, the auger will heat up trying to push the tobacco into the tube. This will cause the injector needle to heat up and can if touched can burn.
The filling in the cigarette tube is too light. Turn the tension adjustment knob in the + direction. This will take time to find the right setting for your smoking enjoyment and can vary with different tobacco used. Turning the tension knob on the side of the machine upward will put less tobacco into the tube. Turning the tension knob downward will add more tobacco into the tube.
The filling in the cigarette tube is not consistent. The tobacco may need to be spread or feathered to help it slip easily into the filling tube. Also, placing your finger lightly on the filter end of the tube while filling will also help the tobacco to be distributed evenly throughout the tube.
After filling the cigarette tube, tap the filter end of the cigarette on a flat surface to help pack the tobacco down inside the tube.
